HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR GARDEN FOR THE FALL?
1)Next week is another time and it involves a lot of things:
1° / You will no longer enjoy the garden
2° / You will resume a certain routine
3°/ There are still some beautiful days before actually beginning the autumn. This is the perfect time to start preparing your garden for the off season (
late fall and winter). But what are the things to do? How to maintain your garden for the fall?
2) Maintain your green areas before the cold.
I love autumn because it’s a season full of color especially with falling leaves. I think there is some poetry in there, but that’s not the subject of the article! Even though the leaves on the ground are very pretty and bring a warm touch to the lawn, they must be picked up.
Moreover, if you have not yet put it, it’s time to go to compost and put your dead leaves! But not only…
The arrival of autumn is the opportunity to cut one last time the hedges, but also the turf.
This is also the time when we do a big cleaning in the plants. We think to bring back the flowers and plants that fear the cold.
Did you know that in autumn it is also the time to plant the bulbs for spring? The land is still loose enough to be able to plant without worries, and you will have pretty flowers with the arrival of the sunny days the following year!
3)Tidying up the garden shed early in the fall
Normally during the summer, the garden shed is used more than in winter. We tend to go there more often and use the tools that are there, put out the sun loungers, and so on.
Might as well enjoy the end of the season when it is still dry to get out, give a good cleaning and organize all of your garden shed. The advantage? Once spring arrives you will have a ready-made space, tidy and clean!
Feel free to create different areas in your shed : a storage area with the garden furniture, the various elements of decoration that fear rain and cold, a work area with a small work plan to arrange the plants to winter safety.
This work plan will also be useful when you want to repot some indoor plants or when you want to plant. Finally, an area to store your gardening tools. By the way, take advantage of this end season to polish them up them up and have tools ready for use in the spring!
